The Sol Society Foundation’s Story
The Sol Society Foundation is a 501(3)(c) non-profit public charity that utilizes social events and gatherings to build community, foster relationships, and fundraise for local children’s hospitals. All proceeds from TSSF events will be donated, with a different hospital department or specialty focused on each year. The goal is to support hospital needs while providing hope and a sense of connection to families who are impacted by the medical world.

A Letter from the Founder:
In 2023, my family spent 3 months in the NICU while we battled life saving care for my daughter, Soleil. During the many hours that we spent in the chairs in her room, holding our daughter while she was hooked up to countless monitors and breathing systems, I often thought to the future. I wondered, how can I use this isolating experience in the NICU to make a bigger impact? To have our pain mean something beyond this room?
Soleil ended up leaving the NICU with a tracheostomy, a G-Tube feeding tube, and a handful of diagnoses and disabilities that she lives with. We were just happy to bring her home, but our lives were forever changed when we became medical parents.
Flash forward to 3 years later, and Soleil has taught us so much. We’ve learned about resilience, miracles, hope, patience, and community. We’ve learned about finding your village, that village accepting and loving your kids like their own, and about the importance of connection. Her journey is difficult at times - to say the least - but she is the strongest person we know. Everyone around us can see her positivity and feisty spirit. She’s shown us that “normal” looks different for everyone, and that those who fight silent battles are often the ones who need support the most.
With The Sol Society Foundation, I hope to build that sense of community beyond just our circle but onto many others as well. I hope to use my love of social events to do some good and give back to the people and programs that have helped save my daughter’s life and the lives of so many other children. I hope to help others feel like they’re not so alone in whatever scary journey they are facing.
When naming this foundation, I was asked “what is something you felt when navigating those early days? What is something you wanted?” At the time, all I wanted was for Soleil to feel the sun. I wanted our family to be outside together, no longer confined to the walls of her hospital room. That feeling of the sun on your skin, of fresh air and freedom and togetherness, is what drove me to finally create The Sol Society Foundation.
I’m excited to see what good we can do with this, and I’m so happy you’re here. Let’s have some fun!
